Instant City Solutions ("we", "us", or "our") makes small games. This policy explains what our games do with information, which is very little. It applies to every game we publish on Google Play and other app stores under the Instant City Solutions developer account, including Nine Heavens Ascent and Potion Pile, and to this website.
The short version
- Our games have no accounts, no sign-in, no ads, no in-app purchases, no chat, and no social features.
- We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, precise location, or anything else that identifies you.
- The only thing a game sends anywhere is an anonymous "someone is playing" signal so we can see how many people play and for how long.
- Your progress and settings, if a game saves them, stay on your device.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask for or collect personal information. Our games do not request any device permission beyond network access, and they do not read your contacts, photos, files, location, microphone, camera, or the identity of your device.
Anonymous play statistics
Our games are built with vbgnt, a game-making platform, and include its play-statistics module. When you open a game, it sends one "play" event, and while the game is running it sends a playtime event about every two minutes. Each event contains only:
- which game it is (a game identifier and our developer handle);
- the platform it is running on (for example "android");
- for playtime events, the number of seconds played since the last event.
That is everything. No player identity, no device identifier, no input, and no gameplay details are sent. The events go over HTTPS to the vbgnt analytics service, which counts distinct players using a hash of the network address and browser or app user agent that changes every day and cannot be reversed to identify you, and keeps nothing else. Your network address is not stored. We use these counts only to understand how our games are doing.
The module does not run at all while a game is being edited or tested, so the counts reflect real players only.
Information from app stores
When you install a game from Google Play, Google may share aggregated, anonymized statistics with us, such as install counts by country, crash and "app not responding" reports, and star ratings and reviews you choose to post. Google collects this information under its own terms and the Google privacy policy. We cannot see who installed a game, and reviews show only what you make public.
Data stored on your device
A game may save your progress, high scores, and settings in its own private storage on your device so they are there the next time you play. That data never leaves your device and we cannot access it. Uninstalling the game deletes it.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade any information, and we have none to share. The anonymous play counts are processed by vbgnt on our behalf and are not disclosed to anyone else, except if we are required to by law.
Data retention and deletion
The anonymous play counts are kept as aggregate totals. Because they contain nothing that identifies you or your device, there is nothing we could look up or delete for a specific player. If you want a game to stop sending play statistics, uninstall it; collection ends immediately. Any saved progress is removed when you uninstall.
Children
Our games are rated for general audiences and are not directed at children under 13, and the target audience declared on Google Play is 13 and older. Because the games collect no personal information, they do not knowingly collect any from children either. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, privacy laws give you rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data and to object to certain processing. We hold no personal data about players, so there is nothing to access or delete, but you are welcome to write to us with any question or request and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you may also contact your local data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising as those terms are defined under California law.
Security
The play-statistics events are sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. Since the games hold no personal data, there is no personal data to lose.
International
We are based in the United States, and the analytics service is hosted there. Because nothing sent to it identifies you, no personal data crosses borders when you play.
Changes to this policy
If a future game or update changes any of this, for example by adding an online leaderboard, we will update this policy before the change ships, change the effective date at the top of this page, and describe the new practice in the game's store listing. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
